Loch Ness Monster

Equal parts Bailey's Créme Caramel + Suntory's Midori Melon Liqueur

Sounds weird, doesn't it? Bailey's and Midori? This unusual pairing makes a fine greenish cocktail with an alcohol content that will leave your head swimming sweetly with Nessy.

My Review:
This creamy, nosy, and sweet cocktail tickles my fancy. I'd love to make it into a hard candy or sucker! It'd be great as a chocolate truffle filling too. If you're not into sweet, this drink may be a bit much for you, but it's not a sugary drink. It's best shaken and served over light ice. A frosty glass adds a great finish. (substitution note: if you don't have the Caramel, standard Bailey's Irish Créme works well too) A couple of these, and lightweights like me will be good for the night. The Loch Ness Monster receives the following scores:

Scent: 9 --the Bailey's really stands out
Aesthetics: 9.5 --it's an intriguing murky green
Alcohol Taste: 8.5 --strong, but not overpowering
Overall Mix Taste: 10 --delightfully creamy and sweet
Final Score: 9.25 --you won't want too many of these, but the taste is fantastic, and a must try

Dan + Dole = Delicious!

Crystal Head Vodka + Dole Orange, Strawberry, Banana 100% Juice Blend

The simple pairing of a delicious 100% juice blend by Dole and the infamous Crystal Head Vodka by Dan Aykroyd creates a smooth drink that will have you begging for more.

Here's a little blurb about the Vodka:
This 'Pure Spirit', vodka triple filtered through Herkimer diamonds, free of additives, is exquisite any time of the year. Brought to us by Dan Aykroyd, known for his fascination with the invisible world, Crystal Head Vodka ties in with the story of the 13 Crystal Heads that have been unearthed at various times on our planet... from the Yucatan to Tibet. The Heads are believed to emit positive energy, good will and prosperity. Crystal Head Vodka is perfect as a lone shot, chilled or served in signature cocktails. "Unlike most vodkas in today's marketplace that use additives, glycol, citrus and sugar to improve smoothness and flavor, Crystal Head Vodka is a pure spirit with no additives. It is quadrupled distilled and filtered three times through charcoal followed by triple filtration over Herkimer crystals from one of the planets rarest deposits of close concentrated semi-precious stones"- Dan Aykroyd.

My Review:
I really enjoyed this drink. The alcohol of the Crystal Head Vodka, even in good healthy measures, is nearly undetectable when mixed with a quality juice (as any good vodka should be). Free of artificial sweeteners, added sugars, high fructose corn syrup, colours, and all the other junk you get with bar "juice" cocktails, this little number receives the following scores:

Scent: 10 --fresh and fruity
Aesthetics: 10 --looks like juice
Alcohol Taste: 10 --nearly undetectable
Overall Mix Taste: 10 --if you have a quality juice, you can't go wrong
Final Score: 10 --Delicious!
